BELMOND, IA --- Arlene J. Berhow, 80, of Belmond, passed away Wednesday Nov. 2, 2011, at the Rehabilitation Center of Belmond. Memorial services for Arlene J. Berhow will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 7, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Belmond. Carolyn Pflibsen, AIM will officiate. Friends may call on the family from 4-6 p.m. today, Sunday, Nov. 6, at the Dugger Funeral Home, 111 Luick's Lane South in Belmond and visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.

Arlene Joan Berhow, the daughter of Julius T. and Lillie R. Ulstad Johnson, was born Oct. 9, 1931, in Belmond Township in Wright County. Arlene was united in marriage to Milo (Mike) Berhow of Belmond. Shortly after they were married, they made their home at the Tyrrell Family family farm in rural Belmond. Arlene's passion was her family. She loved to cook and bake for her family and close friends. She enjoyed going out to eat and watching people. Arlene was a member of Trinity Lutheran in Belmond. For the past six and one half years, she had been a resident at the Rehabilitation Center of Belmond. She enjoyed the company of the other residents and staff.

Arlene is survived by her husband of 56 years, Milo (Mike); three children, Les and wife, Peggy: Julie Kellogg and husband, Scott: Craig and wife, Kim, all of Belmond: five grandchildren, Derrick Berhow and friend Trisha; Shaina Berhow and her friend, Chris; Kelsey Rohwedder; Cody and Alyssa Berhow; one great- grandchild, Hayden; two sisters, Margie Sheriff and husband, Donald "Red" of Belmond: Jeanette Pruin and husband, Paul of Rockwell and numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, two infant sons, Wesley and Jay; a sister, Elaine Christenson and five brothers, David; Ervin; Leslie; Richard, and Luther. Dugger Funeral Home, 111 Luick's Lane South, Belmond, Iowa.
