Albert M. Bach, 91, of Iowa Falls, passed away Thursday, Sept. 15, 2011 at Ellsworth Municipal Hospital, Iowa Falls. Funeral services for Albert Bach will be 10:30 am Monday Sept. 19, 2011 at the Church of the Open Bible, in Iowa Falls. Burial will be at Union Cemetery, Iowa Falls. A time of visitation will be Sunday Sept. 18, 2011 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Linn's Funeral Home, Iowa Falls Chapel, 1521 Washington Ave. Iowa Falls, Iowa. The Linn's Funeral Home, Iowa Falls Chapel is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Albert M. Bach was born on March 12, 1920, in Dows, Iowa, the son of Sofus and Anna [Simonson] Bach. He attended Dows High School and worked in his father's blacksmith shop until being inducted into the Army in 1941. Albert served his country as a sergeant in the Army during World War II in New Guinea and Australia before returning to Iowa and uniting in marriage with Maxine Surls in 1945. Albert and Maxine celebrated 65 years of marriage before Maxine's death in 2010. Albert was employed in Iowa Falls by Gade Manufacturing, Ralston Purina, and Iowa Falls Machine Works before retiring at age 84. Without formal training, he was highly skilled in mechanical design, construction, and fabrication with steel. Albert was a life-long member of the Church of the Open Bible, in Iowa Falls, where he was actively involved as a member of the orchestra, served on the church board, and led redesigns and refurbishments of the facility. Albert is survived by one son and his wife, Randall and Barbara Bach, of Dayton, Ohio; one grandson, Ryan and Anne Bach; one great granddaughter, Nova Bach Kulisky; one nephew, Dennis Bach and one niece, Cheryl Nachazel. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Maxine; and one brother, Harald Bach.
