Esther J. (Blank) Vorderbruggen, 73, of Brookston, MN, passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at Lamb House in Brookston. She was born September 16, 1938 in Kanawha, Iowa to Cecil and Marie (Krambeer) Blank. Esther graduated from Bemidji High School. She married the love of her life Adrian Vorderbruggen on November 24, 1956. Esther was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Cloquet and volunteered her time. Esther loved flowers and gardening.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Timothy, Randal, Daniel, Andrew; grandson, Samuel Vorderbruggen; and brother, Merle Blank. Esther is survived by her husband, Adrian Vorderbruggen; sons, Thomas (Deborah) Vorderbruggen of Newport, MI, John Vorderbruggen of Silver Bay, MN; daughter, Brenda Sunderdance of Platteville, WI; brothers, Joseph (Carol) Blank of Redwing, MN, Robert (Lorene) Blank of Bemidji, MN; sisters, Arlene (Arnold) Tangborn of Bemidji, MN, Evelyn (Harry) Creger of Bemidji, MN; five grandsons, two granddaughters; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Visitation: 5:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 25, 2011 with a rosary recitation at 6:30 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Care. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 26, 2011 with visitation one hour prior to mass at Queen of Peace Catholic Church celebrated by Father Justin Fish. Interment in Arrowhead Township Cemetery. The family has selected Nelson Funeral Care to assist them with arrangements.
