A Memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 14, 1985, at 9 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage for Rose K. DeLano, 83, of Eagle Grove, Iowa. She died on Sunday, November 10, at an Osage nursing home. Funeral services will be in Eagle Grove and arrangements are being made by Kastler and Babcock Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in the Catholic Cemetery in Eagle Grove.

Mrs. DeLano was born on March 5, 1902 in Stacyville, Iowa, the daughter of Bernard and Helen Adams. She married Hugh DeLano of Clarion on August 4, 1920. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh, who died in 1959; her parents; son, Edward of Eagle Grove; and two daughters, Mrs. Ernhart (Alice) Malmin of Osage and Mrs. Earl (Irene) Benton of Thompson Falls, Montana; two brothers, Albert Adams and Fred Adams, both of Osage; 9 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Rose Katherine DeLano, the daughter of Bernard and Helen Steiger Adams, was born on March 5, 1902 at
Stacyville, Iowa. She grew up in Stacyville and received her education there. On August 4, 1920, she was united in marriage with Hugh DeLano in the
Visitation Church at Stacyville. After their marriage, they lived in Stacyville and then at St. Ansgar and in 1933, the family moved to a farm northwest of Eagle Grove. Mr. DeLano died in 1959.

For the past year, Rose had lived at Osage and before that, she lived in California for two years. She was a long-time member of the Sacred Heart Church and Catholic Daughters of America.

She died on Sunday, Nov. 10, 1985 at the Faith Lutheran Home in Osage, at the age of 83 years, eight months and five days.

She is survived by two daughters, Alice, Mrs. Ernhart Malmin of Osage; Irene, Mrs. Earl Benton of Thompson Falls, Mont.; a son, Edward DeLano of rural Eagle Grove; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Albert and Fred Adams, both of Osage; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband and several brothers and sisters.

Funeral services for Mrs. Rose DeLano, age 83 of Eagle Grove, were held on Friday, Nov. 15, 1985 at 10:30 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eagle Grove. Rev. Fr. Cecil McSweeney was the officiant and burial was in the Calvary Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Visitation was held at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home on Thursday with the Catholic Daughters Rosary at 4 p.m. and the parish scripture service at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
