Jerry L. House, 52, of Russellville, AK, died Sunday, August 7, 2011 at the Paula J. Barber Hospice House in Fort Dodge. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 16 at the Graceland Cemetery. Jerry Burton will be officiating. Born November 14, 1958, in Webster City, Iowa, he lived in Webster City, IA, and Clarion, IA, before settling in Russellville, AK. He ended his days happily in Fort Dodge, IA surrounded by family. Jerry's life was tough because he fell ill at a young age from scarlet fever which resulted in mild mental retardation. His disability was also his gift because he appreciated the simple things in life that many of us take for granted. He enjoyed being around people, fishing, and stock-car races. He was known to crack jokes even during the hardest times of his life. He fought a tough battle with cancer and never gave up, having a positive attitude the whole time. Survivors include his sisters; Nancy Smith and husband Phillip, and Diane Fisher. Brothers; Donald Poore and wife Nancy, Joe Poore, Gene House and wife Nancy, Robert House, Richard House and wife Barbie. Those proceeding him were his mother and father, Peter Wilbur House and Delores Margaret House, his brothers David Poore and Jim Poore, and his sister Janice House.
