EAGLE GROVE - Dorothy Evelyn Biege, the daughter of Oliver and Agnes (Johnson) Evenson, was born August 1, 1913, in Albert Lea, Minnesota. She was raised and educated in the area of her birth. After finishing school she assisted her mother in operating a catering business. On August 28, 1938, Dorothy was united in marriage with John Biege in Osage, Iowa. The couple made their home in Albert Lea. They moved to Austin, MN in 1942 and to Fort Dodge in 1954. Dorothy was a member of United Methodist Church. Dorothy passed away on Wednesday, August 17, 2011, at Bickford Cottage in Fort Dodge, at the age of 98 years. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Robert and Dick Evenson.

Survivors include her husband John Biege of Eagle Grove; daughters, Sue Witt and husband Doug of Fort Dodge and Dianne Messerly and husband Dick of Eagle Grove; nine grandchildren: Laurie (Chip) Copenhaver, Jodi (Tom) Fawcett, Dan (Laura) Witt, Tara Witt, Andy Witt, Cindy (Travis) Prien, Judy Coppenger Witt, Kris (Heath) Miller and David (Shelby) Messerly; 18 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Westfield Township Cemetery in Rock Springs, Wis. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
