Josephine "Jo" was born on June 3, 1929, in Belmond, the daughter of Jacob and Elizabeth (Lichman) Poole. She is the last survivor of eight children. She attended school in the Belmond and Britt area and then finished in Mason City when her family moved. Although she worked outside the home for a short time, she was well- known for her cooking, canning and baked goods. She was a wonderful seamstress and made clothing for her family. She was good-hearted and donated to many charities. She was an animal lover her whole life. Josephine was united in marriage to Robert "Bob" Linne on June 27, 1948, at Zion Lutheran Church in Clear Lake. For many years she has been a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. Her and her husband Bob enjoyed many fishing trips with the Lunker Club to Canada, often referred to as the "Odd Couples Trip." In the summer she showed off her green thumb raising roses and tomatoes that were as tall as tall could be. In the winter it was time to watch Westerns, mysteries, and Lifetime movies. Josephine and Bob never had children but took great pleasure in their many nieces and nephews, along with the grandnieces and nephews, which she thought of as her own children.

Her husband Bob died in April 1998; her parents; four sisters, Margaret Lucas, Rose May, Barbara Ann and Mary Poole; and three brothers, Johnny, Frank and Jake Poole, preceded her in death. Fullerton Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
