Longtime Eagle River resident, Mrs. Mary Ann Gruben, 69, died Monday, July 25, 2011 at The Providence Extended Care in Anchorage, Alaska. Memorial services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 29, 2011 at The Providence Extended Care in Anchorage.

Mrs. Gruben was born October 12, 1941 to Harold and Coletta Duitscher in Clarion, Iowa. She graduated from Baudette High School in Minnesota. In October 1967 Mary Ann moved to Alaska where she lived in Anchorage until moving to Eagle River in 1989, where she has lived ever since. She worked for First National Banks in Baudette, Minnesota, N.B.A. in Anchorage, Stewart Title in Anchorage, and most recently The Matanuska Valley Federal Credit Union in Eagle River. On June 15, 2011 she officially retired from The Matanuska Valley Federal Credit Union in Eagle River. The one thing Mary Ann loved to do was go bowling and spending time with family.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Michael Duitscher, parents, and her husband, Rodney Gruben. She is survived by her brother, David Duitscher and his wife, Judy of Anchorage; nieces, Denise and Debra Duitscher of Anchorage; nephew, Derrick Duitscher of Anchorage; step sons, Lon of Duluth, MN, Jay Gruben of Martinez, CA and Lee Gruben of Duluth, MN; grandchildren, Lonny Beth, Timmy, Rachel and Wyatt; grand nieces and nephew, Skylar, Lexey, Dulcy, Ianna and Cotter and 3 great-grandchildren. Arrangements made by The Anchorage Funeral Home & Crematory.
