Clarice Irene Golden was born on June 3, 1919, on a farm northwest of Jewell, Iowa. She was the eldest of four children born to George P. and Rickie (Koop) Klaver. Clarice received her education by attending country school and Kamrar High School, where she graduated in 1937. On November 12, 1940, Clarice was united in marriage to Donald Alvin Golden of Princeton, MO. They were married by a Rev. Culbertson at Blairsburg, Iowa. They farmed in Hamilton County, until they retired into Stanhope in the mid 1970’s. Clarice was a member of the Community Church of Kamrar, Iowa, where she was active in Women’s Fellowship. Death came to Clarice on Tuesday, June 21, 2011, at the Wright Medical Center in Clarion, Iowa.
Those surviving her death include two daughters Vivian Swenson of Radcliffe, Iowa and Viola Miller of Ames, Iowa; one son Larry Golden and his wife Helen of Goldfield, Iowa; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one sister Helen Main (Le) of Johnston, Iowa; two brothers Rev. Claude and his wife Joanne Klaver of Fairbanks, Alaska and Howard and his wife Bonita Klaver of Kamrar, Iowa; along with other relatives and friends. Clarice was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1984, sons-in-law Larry K. Swenson and Bob Miller and a niece Mickey Main.
Visitation: Friends may call at Community Church in Kamrar, IA, on Thursday, June 23, 2011 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm.
Service: Funeral services will be held Friday, June 24, 2011 at 10:30 am at Community Church in Kamrar, IA.
Cemetery: Clarice will be buried at Presbyterian Cemetery in Kamrar, IA.
