BELMOND, IA - John R. Erickson, age 45, of Belmond passed away Sunday June 19, 2011, at the Belmond Medical Center. Memorial services for John R. Erickson will be held at 10:30 a.m.. Thursday June 23, 2011, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Belmond. Pastor Troy Pflibsen will officiate. Inurnment will take place in the Belmond Cemetery. There will be no viewing. Memorials may be made in John R. Erickson's name toward his children's, Amber and Logan, education.

John Robert, the son of Jerry and JoAnne Andrich Erickson, was born March 23, 1966 in Fort Dodge. John grew up in Fort Dodge, where he attended school. He moved to Belmond in 1984, and graduated from Belmond High School in 1985. John began working for the Eaton Corporation in 1988. John was united in marriage to Dulcie Kruszka on April 11, 1992 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Belmond. The couple made their home in Belmond where John continued working for Eaton. John and Dulcie were blessed with two children, Amber and Logan. Amber and Logan completed John and Dulcie's world. John's kids meant the world to him, and he would never miss any of their activities no matter what. He enjoyed golfing at the Belmond Country Club. John belonged to Trinity Lutheran Church in Belmond, where he served in several capacities.

John is survived by his wife, Dulcie; kids, Amber and Logan at home; mother, JoAnne and her fiance, Verlyn; father, Jerry and his wife, Laura; grandmother, Margaret Hasty; grandfather, Andy Andrich; mother and father-in-law, Alan and Candice Kruszka; Dulcie's grandmothers, Avonelle Glasbrenner and Helen Kruszka; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ethan and Nicki, Erika and Rob, Courtney and Ryan, Quinten and Rochelle, Jordan; step-sisters, Brandy and Tyler, Courtney and Mark; numerous other aunt, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Last but not least a faithful pet dog, Bruiser.
