Lila C. Ayala, 87, of Fort Dodge, died Friday June 17, 2011 at the Fort Dodge Villa Care Center, with her daughters and sister-in-law, Josephine by her side. Funeral services will be Wednesday June 23, 2011 at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Church, with Pastor Dan Prochaska. Burial will follow at Corpus Christi Cemetery. A visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM in the Chapel of Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home, with a family prayer service at 7:00.

Lila is survived by her children; Linda Wynn of Loveland, CO, Vicky Ayala of La Salle, CO, Roxie Grunwald of Fort Dodge, Bob Ayala of Fort Dodge, Tony Ayala of Fort Dodge, Tonja Ayala of Lakewood, CO, Sonja Ayala-Moeding of Fort Dodge, and Evelyn Ayala of Fort Dodge, 40 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren, and 27 great-great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tony G. Ayala, parents; Albert and Evelyn (Duckett) Towne, son; Daniel Ayala, 6 grandchildren, brothers; G.O and Arleigh Towne, and sisters; Janiece Sledge and Elaine Davis.

Lila C. Towne was born in Kensett, Iowa on July 20, 1923. She and her family later moved to Eagle Grove where she met Tony Ayala, her future husband. They were united in marriage on December 26, 1942 in Troy, KS. The couple then established their home in Fort Dodge, where they opened the "Club Cafe" in downtown Fort Dodge, which they owned and operated for a number of years. Besides being a homemaker, Lila was employed at Hawkeye Glove for several years before working for Bernie Fire Clean-up until her retirement. Lila enjoyed music, playing the organ and accordion, dancing, baking, watching birds, and most of all spending time with her family; especially all her grandchildren. Lila was a past member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
