Faye Appelseth, 86 died April 1, 1988, at the Clarkfield Care Center, Clarkfield, Minnesota. Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 5, 1988, 2:00 p.m. at the Community Bible Church in Montevideo, Minnesota, with Pastor James Revelle officiating. Final Resting Place is the Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens, Camp Release Township, Lac qui Parle County, Minnesota. Organist was JoAnn Hildahl and the soloist was David Rupp. Casket Bearers were Duane Anderson, John Kvistad, Leland Johnson, David Landmark, Marvin Hildahl and David Hildahl.
Cecil Faye Appelseth was born to Austin and Amy Beightol on a farm near Webster City, Iowa, on June 30, 1901. She attended country school there through the eighth grade. In 1917 she moved with her family to Clarkfield. She graduated from Clarkfield High School in 1921. In 1922 she moved to Gary, Minnesota, with her parents. In 1924 she married Henry Appelseth. She has lived in Clarkfield ever since except for five months at the Olivia Care Center before coming to the Clarkfield Care Center where she was a resident for three and a half years until her death.
Survivors include her daughters Verna Stone of Stillwater, Minnesota, Elsie Carlson and husband Stanley of Clarkfield, JoAnne Weathers and husband Al of Hot Springs, Arkansas; and a son Ralph Appelseth and wife Joyce of Enterprise, Kansas; nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; a brother Smiley Beightol and two sisters, Lena Ford and Nellie Albers all of Woolstock, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1980 and a daughter Inez Carlson in 1984.
