December 4, 1882 -- September 11, 1971

Maude May Hirt was born December 4, 1882, near Woolstock, Iowa, the daughter of Manual and Isabelle Spurling Wallin. She attended school near Woolstock. She was united in marriage to Robert Hirt of Woolstock, on October 29, 1905, at Woolstock. The couple made their home at Woolstock, and continued to make their home there until Mr. Hirt's death in 1949. Mrs. Hirt had made her home in the Heritage Home at Clarion, since January 15, 1971, and was living there at the time of her death on Saturday, September 11, at the age of 88 years, 9 months, and 7 days.

She is survived by two sons Millard Hirt, Woolstock; Robert Wayne Hirt, Sepulveda, California. Mrs. Hirt was a long time member of the Woolstock Methodist Church and for many years was the pianist of the church. She was preceded in death by her parents, several brothers and sisters.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, September 14, at 2 p.m. at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home, Eagle Grove. Rev Donald L. Forbes of the United Methodist Church, Eagle Grove, officiated, and burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove.
