Viola Mae Shahan was born May 3, 1935. She passed away Saturday, May 14, 2011, peacefully after a long illness. She was born in Kanawha, Iowa, lived in Las Vegas for 50 years. Viola retired from UMC Medical Center in 1998, as an admitting clerk. She is survived by her brothers, Ed and Forest Rowley; her daughters, Rose Shahan of Las Vegas, and Denise Cyr of Tampa, Fla.; son, Sam Shahan of Las Vegas; grandchildren, Rachel Styres, James, Bryan, Ashton, Lindsey and Erin Shahan; and her 5 great-grandchildren. Funeral Service will be at 4 p.m. Monday, May 23, at Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main Street, Las Vegas, NV 89129. Family would like to thank the staff of Acacia Springs and Creekside Hospice for their loving care of our Mom.
