Margaret Mae Stafford, 98, of Bozeman, Montana, passed away Thursday, April 14, 2011, at Sheridan, Montana. Cremation has taken place, and no services are planned at this time. A private family memorial will be held later at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Eagle Grove, Iowa. Mae was born April 15, 1912, to Howard and Clara Henderson of Waverly, Iowa. She was educated in the Waterloo, Iowa, schools, and in 1930 she moved with her parents to Goldfield, Iowa, where she resided for two years before moving to Eagle Grove. In 1937, she married Ralph (Lefty) Stafford. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1979, and her parents. Mae moved to Bozeman in 1997 where she resided at the Darlinton Manor for several years. She later moved to the Meadow Lark Manor Assisted Living in Whitehall, Montana, and in 2009 entered the Tobacco Root Mountain Nursing Home in Sheridan. Mae loved to quilt, write poems, travel, and spend time with her daughter and family. Mae is survived by her daughter, Rita, and son-in-law Roger Siemens, of Silver Star, Montana; grandsons, Rodney (Mary Ellen) of Chicago, Randy of Kalispell, Montana, and Ryan (Molly) of Center City, Minn.; and several great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Holmes Baptist Church.
