Alice Caroline Ross of Bremerton
August 4, 1920 --- May 13, 2011
Alice C. Ross, 90, died at Harrison Hospital on May 13, 2011. The daughter of George and Nora (Reynolds) Sevick, Alice was born Aug 4, 1920, in Dows, Iowa. She graduated from St. Cloud Teachers College in St. Cloud, MN, and taught at rural schools for 3 years. During World War II she lived in Chicago and worked at Western Electric making radar tubes. Alice married Navy Warrant Officer John R. Ross in Chicago on Nov 28, 1944. They lived in many places in the US for the next 20 years. They retired in Bremerton in 1963. She enjoyed singing, cribbage, bowling, and golf. She directed the Sunshine singers at the Bremerton Senior Center and the Happy Norwegians and a Couple of Swedes at the Sons of Norway. She volunteered at Kitsap Regional Library for 12 years.
Alice was preceded in death by her husband, John, and daughter, Jeannine Boyer. She is survived by her daughter, Anne Ross of Bremerton; son-in-law, David Boyer of St. Cloud, MN; grandchildren, John Boyer (Karla) of Lodi, WI; Emily Benedict (Bill) of Bemidji, MN, and Kathryne Richards (Mike) of St. Cloud, MN; great-grandchildren, Sophia Boyer, Samuel Richards, and Ross Richards; sister, Martha Stadther of Olivia, MN; and many friends and caregivers. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to St. Labre Indian School. Lewis Funeral Chapel - Bremerton, Washington.
