August 18, 1926 - February 19, 2011

ALDEN, IA -— Iva (Lindsay) Lemke, 84, of Alden, died on Saturday, February 19, 2011, at the Heritage Care Center in Iowa Falls. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Wednesday, February 23, at the United Methodist Church in Alden, with burial in the Alden Cemetery. The Surls Funeral Home in Alden, is in charge of the arrangements.

Iva (Lindsay) Lemke, was born on August 18, 1926 in Alexander, the daughter of Clark and Sarah (Doty) Lindsay. She attended many country schools and high school at Geneva and Dows, graduating in 1944. Iva was united in marriage to Alvin L. Lemke on December 9, 1945 in Hampton. She was a homemaker and a member of the Alden United Methodist Church.

Iva is survived by her husband, Alvin; son, Ronald Lemke and his wife, Linda of Hampton; daughters, Carol Gradin of Mason City, Marlene Mark and her husband, Steven of Williams, Linda Howard and her husband, Curt of Waverly and Brenda Bradley and her husband, Scott of Popejoy; seven grandchildren, Tracy Gradin, Tara Gradin, Lance (Charlotte) Lemke, Bryce (Josie) Lemke, Macey Mark, Cody Mark, and Jamison Bradley; 10 great-grandchildren, Chace Jacobson, Mike Radcliff, Zaya Gradin, Adaleigh Mark, Kynsleigh Mark, Devin Lemke, Darin Lemke, Carlie Lemke, Addison Lemke and Dawson Lemke; one great-great-grandchild, Hayzin Jacobson; and two sisters-in-law, Bernice Lindsay of New Hartford and Eldoris Seidel of Waterloo. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Russell, Wilbur and Lester Lindsay; a sister-in-law, Esther Lindsay; three sisters, Edith Bobst, Edna Hair and Lou Cooper; three brothers-in-law, Albert Bobst, Lester Hair and George Cooper; and a great-grandson, Zaid Gradin.
