IOWA FALLS, IA — Mildred Santee, 101, of Iowa Falls, passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2011, at the Scenic Manor Care Facility, Iowa Falls. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Friday, March 11, at the First Congregational United Church of Christ, Iowa Falls. A time of visitation will be from 1-2:00 p.m., before the services at the church. The Linn's Funeral Home, Iowa Falls, is in charge of the arrangements.

Mildred Irene Trickey, was born on March 6, 1909, at her parents' home in Hardin County, the daughter of Belle (Gunn) and Fred William Trickey. She attended the Owasa Grade School and graduated from the Iowa Falls High School with the class of 1925. She then attended Teachers College in Cedar Falls. She taught first grade at the Dows Community Schools before her marriage on March 8, 1930, to Kenneth Leroy Santee at her parents' home. To this union two children were born, Janet and Jon. Mildred was a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, along with being a longtime member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ, Iowa Falls. She also worked with and enjoyed her memberships in the Iowa Falls Women's Club, the Culture Club and the Ellsworth Hospital Auxiliary.

Mildred Santee is survived by her daughter-in-law, JoAnn Santee of Iowa Falls; two grandchildren, Jaci (Tad) Miller of Fertile and James (Katie) Santee of Papillion, Nebraska; and two great-grandchildren, Molly Jo Miller and Kaysee Lynn Miller, also of Fertile. She was preceded in death by her parents, Belle and Fred Trickey; her husband, Kenneth L. Santee; an infant daughter, Janet Louise Santee; and her son, Jon L. Santee.
