When a small boy, the family moved to a farm near Dakota City, where he grew to manhood; he was graduated from the Humboldt high school and attended Iowa State College for a short time, leaving to enter the Air Force, only a short while before the signing of the Armistice. In the fall of 1919, he, with his elder brother bought a farm near Webster City and in March 1920 moved there.

On Nov. 29, 1922 he was united in marriage with Pearl Burnett. To this union was born five children, Ardys (Mrs Arlie Askelson of Evergreen, Colo.); Shirley (Mrs. Stanley Congour of Kansas); twin daughters Beryl (Mrs. Wm. Stewart) and Bonnie (Mrs. Harry McMichael) both of Denver, Colo. and one son, Lyle, farming the home place in the Evergreen Community [Goldfield Iowa]. Harry is survived by his wife, his five children, 12 grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.

Though in failing health for several years, he was able to travel and Mr. and Mrs. Christensen had spent the past three weeks visiting the three daughters in Colorado, where he became acquainted with three new grandsons. An enjoyable visit ended, Mr. and Mrs. Christensen started home on October 22, stopping in McCook, Neb., to spend the night with good friends, a former pastor, Rev. and Mrs. S. A. Kruschwitz. It was in their home as he prepared to retire that he quietly and peacefully slipped to the great beyond.
