June 28, 1929 --- April 21, 2011

Carrie K. Hoover, 81, left her earthly home on Thursday, April 21, 2011, to be with her Lord & Savior, Jesus. Carrie Kathryn Hoover, the daughter of Roy and Kathryn (Conkling) Kiesecker, was born on June 28, 1929, in Webster City. She was raised and educated in the area of her birth, graduating from Lincoln High School in 1947.

On April 25, 1948, Carrie was united in marriage with Calvin G. Hoover in Ames, Iowa. The couple lived in Sheffield before moving to farm in the Duncombe area. In 1991, they retired and moved to Fort Dodge. Carrie moved back to the farm in 2008. The couple wintered in Fort Meyers, Florida for over 25 years. Carrie continued to winter in Florida after Calvin’s death in 2003, having her family join her this past winter. Carrie was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Fort Dodge. She enjoyed making porcelain dolls, loved to watch her son Bill race and cook for her family.

Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Renae Worrell and husband, Tim of Kingsley and Patty Nelson and husband Ric of Fort Dodge; son, Bill Hoover and wife Sheree of Duncombe; nine grandchildren: Todd, Karri, Emily, Jenny, Andy, Tony, Jodi, Sarah and Tiffany; 20 great-grandchildren; sister, June Ades of Webster City; and numerous nieces and nephews. Carrie will be greeted in heaven by her parents; husband, Calvin; son, Galen Hoover; brothers, Eugene Kiesecker and Duane Kiesecker and sisters, Julia “Tiny” Olson and Joyce Hamer.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2011, 10:30 am at Grace Lutheran Church in Fort Dodge with Pastor Matthew Martens officiating. Visitation will be Friday, 5 to 8 p.m. at Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Webster City. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
