PARKERSBURG, IA - Kristopher Lee Walters, 30, of Parkersburg, died Tuesday, April 12, at Sartori Memorial Hospital, Cedar Falls, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. He was born Jan. 21, 1981, in Waverly, son of Kurt and Kathie Toillion Walters. On July 13, 2002, he married Marie Walterman at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Waterloo. Mr. Walters graduated from Dike-New Hartford High School in 1999 and from the University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls, with a bachelor's degree in finance. He began working for the Mudd Group, Cedar Falls, in 2005, where he was currently territory sales manager.

Survived by: his wife; two sons, Brecken and Berkley, both at home; his father of Dike; his mother, Kathie (Larry Aswegan) Walters of New Hartford; four brothers, Kreg Walters of Parkersburg, Kasey Walters and Justin (Rochelle Trainor) Penwell, both of New Hartford, and Spc. Stephen Walters, currently serving in Afghanistan; a sister, Stacia Walters of Parkersburg; paternal grandparents, Lee (Bonnie) Walters of Parkersburg; and maternal grandmother, Bonnie Toillion of Eagle Grove. Preceded in death by: maternal grandfather, Roger Toillion.

Services: 11 a.m. Saturday at Cedar Heights Baptist Church, Cedar Falls, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, Parkersburg. Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Redman-Schwartz Funeral Home, Parkersburg, and for an hour before services Saturday at the church. Memorials: may be directed to the family.

The Iowa State Patrol is still investigating today the cause of a crash which killed a Parkersburg man early Tuesday evening. 30-year-old Kristopher Walters died after his motorcycle was struck by a van in Butler County just before seven o'clock. The ISP says 55-year old Alan Spree, also of Parkersburg, was driving his van on Highway 57 and when he began making a left turn across the highway onto Top Air Road. While making the turn he crossed the path of Walters' motorcycle. Walters was taken by ambulance to Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls but later died of his injuries. The Iowa State Patrol reports 55-year-old Alan Spree from Parkersburg was driving his van on Highway 57 attempting to turn left onto Top Air Road when he crossed into the path of Kristopher Walters. Walters and Spree crashed head-on. Both vehicles came to a rest on the south side of Top Air Road. Walters was taken to Sartori Memorial Hospital by ambulance but died from his injuries, according to authorities. Officials say Spree was injured, both a condition was not released.
