John C. Lallier, aged about 78 years, a native of Croghan, died Monday in Corwith, Ia., according to a telegram received by his sister, Mrs. George Back, Shady avenue, Lowville. Death was pronounced owing to heart trouble. Mr. Lallier was born in Croghan in 1857, a son of John and Mary Bush Lallier. When he was 21 years of age he and several others from Croghan went to Iowa, where they bought up land and settled. Mr. Lallier last visited in Lewis county in 1909, and had planned another trip this coming March. He was twice married, his first wife, Anna Burriel of Corwith, died two years after their marriage. Three years later he married Bridget Mooldon of Des Moines, Ia., who died in 1931. Two sons were born to this union, Oswald and John, both of Corwith Surviving besides his sons are five sisters, Mrs. William Jonas, Mrs. Louise Henry, Mrs. George Back, Mrs. Louis Bush, all of Lowville, and Mrs. Karl Lederle, Carthage; two brothers, Peter Lallier, Croghan, and Frank Lallier, Amsterdam. Funeral services will be held Thursday from St. Benedict's church at St. Benedict, Ia., with interment there.

He went west, settling in Iowa. He was twice married. His first wife, Anna Burrel, Corwith, Iowa, died a number of years ago. He later married Bridget Muldoon, Des Moines, Iowa, who died four years ago. He is survived by two sons, Oswald and John Lallier, Corwith; five sisters, Mrs. William Jonas, Mrs. Louise Henry, Mrs. George Back and Mrs. Louis Bush all of this village; Mrs. Karl Lederle, Carthage and two brothers, Peter Lallier, Croghan, and Frank Lallier, Amsterdam.
