January 13, 1936 -- March 19, 2011

Howard B. Ingebritson, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away suddenly on March 19, 2011. Howard, the son of Daniel and Mary Ingebritson was born January 13, 1936 in Dows, Iowa. He graduated from Webster City High School in Webster City, Iowa. He moved to Albuquerque in 1955 with his sister and her husband where he started his career with the telephone company. He worked for Mountain Bell and US West and retired after 35 years. Howard served two years in the US Army Southeastern Signal School in Fort Gordon, Georgia as an instructor and was honorably discharged in 1964. He was past Executive Vice President of the Communications Workers of America and past President of the Rio Grande Kiwanis Club. Howard was an avid race car fan and drove Jalopies and Sprint cars in the early and middle 1960's. He attended as many car races as he possibly could from Indy cars to Sprint cars to NASCAR. Howard is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Norma; his son, Daniel and fiance, Nina Demaroney and his beloved grandson, Eric H. Ingebritson; three sisters, Shirley Weiss of Las Vegas, NV, Miriam and husband Roger Lewis of Granite Falls, MN and Bernice and husband Bob Hammond of Waterloo, Iowa and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Raymond and Donald and two sisters, Evelyn and Wilma. Howard was a very loving husband, father, grandfather and brother and will be greatly missed. Memorial service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 25, 2011 at French ~ Lomas Chapel. If desired, in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the NM American Parkinson's Disease Association, P.O. Box 92226, Albuquerque, NM 87199-2226 in memory of Howard.
