WEBSTER CITY, IA - Lillian Gage, 87, of Webster City, died Tuesday, March 22, 2011, at Windsor Manor. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Faith United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Pete Peterson officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. Friday until service time.

Lillian Fredericksen, daughter of Christian and Caroline Clemonsen Fredericksen, was born April 27, 1923 at Webster City. She received her education in the Webster City school system, graduating from Lincoln High in 1941. On September 19, 1950, she married Virgil James Gage at Boone. The couple owned and operated the Shady Oaks Restaurant from 1950 to 1954. In 1963, they moved to Eagle Grove where they operated the A & W Drive Inn for 30 years. She had worked at the Kayser Law Firm as a legal secretary and then at Y.O.U.R., Inc. They returned to Webster City in 1977 and retired in 1989. Mr. Gage died March 21, 2009. Lillian had resided at Windsor Manor since September of 2009.

Lillian is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, James and Deb Gage of Algona, Chris and Felicia Gage of Boone; grandchildren, Nathan and Misty Gage of Woodbury, Minn., Curtis and Amy Gage of Ankeny, Mitchell Gage of Iowa City, Madeline Gage of Iowa City; five great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Chris and Pam Fredericksen of Camano Island, Wash.; also in-laws, Jolyn Fredericksen, Donna Lu Fredericksen and Larry Willson; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Marvin, James and Harold Fredericksen; sisters, Betty Hill and Carolyn Willson.

She was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church. She also enjoyed reading, playing cards, especially Bridge. Lillian had a softness in her heart for cats and cherished the many friends in the Webster City Women's Club. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Jane Young House or Faith United Methodist Church.
