Max Moore, age 86, of Williams, died on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at the Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Friday at the United Methodist Church in Williams with burial in the Northlawn Memory Gardens, rural Iowa Falls. Visitation will be 5-7 P.M. Thursday at the Surls Funeral Chapel in Williams. Max Moore was born on November 14, 1924 to Percy and Gunda (Evans) Moore in Popejoy, Iowa. Max graduated of Popejoy High School in 1942. Max was united in marriage to Barbara Curran on May 25, 1972 at their home in Williams. Max farmed, drove truck for Sergeant Calcium and delivered motor homes with Barbara for Winnebago all across the country. He enjoyed taking care of his lawn, fishing and playing cards. Max was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Williams. Max is survived by his wife, Barbara, one son Dennis of Webster City, Iowa, one daughter, Diane of San Antonio, Texas, three step children Glenn of Blue Earth, Minnesota, Nancy of Webster City, Iowa and Steven of Williams, Iowa, 13 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, three brothers Donald, Hubert, and Walter, and one sister Lucille Anderson of Hampton, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents, one infant granddaughter, one daughter Deborah, four sisters Thelma, Mary, Doris and Helen.
