LAMFERS, WITHERS, SEVERSON

August 15, 1889 --- August 3, 1950

Albert Lamfers, son of Kasper and Gertie Lamfers, was born August 15, 1889 in Vinschooten, Holland, and died at the Ellsworth Municipal Hospital, Iowa Falls, Iowa, Thursday evening, August 3, 1950. He attended school in Holland and also for a short period of time after coming to America at the age of nine with his parents and family. On November 18, 1917, he was united in marriage to Anna Gay Withers. To this union were born seven children, the first being twin daughters, Neva Bertie, deceased, and Leva Gertie; Albert Wayne, Richard Frank, Russell John, all of Webster City; William Paul of Mobile, Alabama, and Anna Jane, at home. Following his marriage, he farmed for one year near Wimbledon, North Dakota, returning to near Eagle Grove, Iowa for twelve years, and then farming until his death in Hamilton County.

He is survived by his wife, six children; three brothers, Ken, of Kanawha, Dick of Wimbledon, North Dakota, Jake of Webster City, and one sister, Gertie Severson of Valley City, North Dakota. Also surviving are seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister, Freda, and the one daughter, Neva Bertie, who died in infancy.

Mr. Lamfers was baptized Dec. 7, 1932, at the Webster City Church of Christ. He was a kind and thoughtful man, always interested in the welfare of his family and friends, and will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
