Cora Ella Tubbs, daughter of Leslie and Minnie (Phillips) Tubbs, was born December 17, 1916, near Corwith, Iowa. She was baptized in the United Methodist Church. Cora began her education in a country school near Corwith and then completed her education at St. Mary Academy in Emmetsburg. Cora lived in Emmetsburg where she cared for her parents. She was ill for several years herself and had been a resident of the Emmetsburg Care Center. She later moved to Carroll to be near her niece and made her home at the Carroll Health Center.

Cora passed away Tuesday, February 8, 2011, at the Carroll Health Center in Carroll, Iowa at the age of 94. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Earl Tubbs and Leo Tubbs; and five sisters, Maxine Farris, Hazel Schultz, Helen Lutroe, Thelma Tubbs and Lucina Hall. She is survived by her nieces and nephews; as well as other relatives and many friends.
