Paul is survived by his wife of 60 years Betty, a daughter Paula (Bruce) Johnson of Otho, IA; 2 sons, Richard (Sandy) Bestick of Green Bay, WI, Kevin (Lori) Bestick of Cedar Rapids, IA; 5 Grandchildren, Amy, Michael, Claire, Paul and Madeline Bestick; 11 Step Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Margaret O’Rourke McCormick Bestick, and brothers Elmo McCormick, John, Vincent and Maurice Bestick.

Paul was born in Fort Dodge on December 14, 1918, where he spent most of his life. He graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High in 1937 and then the Lincoln School of Aviation Mechanics. He married Betty Jean Scace of Corwith, IA on June 15, 1943 at Saint Ambrose Cathedral, Des Moines, IA. He served in WWII as an Aviation Machinist First Class, US Navy. Upon discharge he worked for the Des Moines Flying Service and various trucking companies. He then owned and operated Bestick Conoco and the Conoco bulk plant in Fort Dodge for many years until joining his wife Betty, at Bestick Realty, until his retirement in 1981.

Paul enjoyed his retirement years between his cottage at Lake Okoboji and second home at Pine To Palm Park in Weslaco, TX. Paul was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed singing, speaking Spanish (Even if you couldn’t understand it!), telling stories, reciting poetry, flying, boating, swimming, and enjoying time with his friends, family, and relatives. Paul Francis Bestick will be dearly missed but not forgotten. A special thank you to Villa Cottages, Villa care Center and Hospice staff for their professional and caring assistance.
