Alma Cormaney, 99, of Gilbert, Arizona, a former Woolstock resident died Sunday, February 13, 2011 at Gilbert. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 19, 2011 at the Foster Funeral & Cremation Center in Webster City. Burial will follow in the Graceland Cemetery. A visitation hour will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday at Fosters.

Alma Lucille Hopkins, daughter of Milton and Pearl Pease Hopkins, was born November 3, 1911 at Woolstock. She received her education in the Woolstock Public School and attended nursing school in Des Moines. On October 21, 1941, she married Melvin E. Cormaney at Princeton, MO. They resided at Cummings, Iowa and moved to Woolstock in the early 60's. She worked at various locations in the Clarion area. The couple also owned and operated the Cormaney Grocery Store at Woolstock during the 60's. Mr. Cormaney died March 8, 2003. Alma had resided with her daughter at Gilbert since 2004.

Mrs. Cormaney is survived by daughter and son-in-law, LaNonne and Jack Beery of Gilbert; daughters-in-law, Patricia Cormaney of Washington, DC; Pat Cormaney of West Des Moines; grandchildren, Jacki Willett of Gilbert; Mike Cormaney of Washington, DC; Kathy Brunick of Maple Grove, MN; Michael and Denise Cormaney of Arlington, VA; great-grandchildren, Madison and Jaxon Crites, Elizabeth and Ethan Brunick, and Alex Cormaney. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Viola Hopkins; brothers, Edward and Merle Hopkins; step-sons, David and Theodore Cormaney.

She was a member of the Woolstock United Methodist Church and the America Legion Auxiliary. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Alma's memory to the Almost Home Animal Shelter in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Foster Funeral Home.
