POCAHONTAS, IA - Louise E. Eggers, 91, of Pocahontas, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Oct. 2, 2010 at the Pocahontas Manor in Pocahontas. Memorial services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 8, 2010 at the Hope United Methodist Church in Pocahontas with Pastor Clare DeBoef officiating. Burial will be at a later date.

Louise Elizabeth Campbell was born July 29, 1919, in Renwick, Iowa. She was the daughter of Lee and Wilhelmine (Nissen) Campbell. She graduated from Spencer High School. On July 28, 1940, Louise married Maris D. Eggers. The couple lived in Redwood, Calif., until returning to Spencer in 1998. Maris passed away in 2002. In 2003, Louise moved to Pocahontas.

Louise was a member of the Hope United Methodist Church. She was an avid golfer. She and her friends would travel to many PGA golf tournaments. Louise enjoyed traveling, playing bridge, cooking and sewing. While living in California, she did many hours of volunteering.

Left to cherish the memory of Louise are her daughter Martha (John) Nedved, of Pocahontas; son John (Rose) Eggers, of Santa Rosa, Calif.; brother Knox (June) Campbell, of Spencer; sister Joanne Waggie, of Spencer; five granddaughters and seven great-grandchildren. Louise was preceded in death by her parents, husband Maris and a brother, Don Campbell. Powers Funeral Hpme in Pocahontas is handling arrangements.
