Gerald “Jerry” Gourley, of Princeton, MN and formerly of Coon Rapids & Elk River, MN died September 22, 2006 at the age of 73 years, 10 months and 11 days.

Jerry was born on November 11, 1932 in Corwith, Iowa to Ross and Anna (Berger) Gourley. Growing up he lived in Iowa, California and Minnesota. He married his “high school sweetheart”, Marian Holt on June 10, 1951 in Kasson, MN. Jerry worked at Federal Cartridge for 36 years as a Forensic Expert. Ten of those years were spent as a consultant. His work allowed him to travel to nearly all of the United States and to many other countries worldwide. Jerry was an ambitious and energetic man who was always finding a “project” to work on. He enjoyed woodworking, camping, attending auction sales, wintering in Florida and singing. Jerry had a beautiful and powerful voice. He enjoyed singing with the choir, as well as playing musical instruments such as the drums and trombone. Jerry truly enjoyed being able to lend a helping hand to anyone in anyway he could. He shared his knowledge by teaching Adult Sunday school classes in Coon Rapids for over 25 years as well as teaching his children and grandchildren a variety of topics. He simply enjoyed people and people enjoyed him.

Jerry’s true passion in life was spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 55 years: Marian; children: Richard (Deborah), Dale (Debbie), Michelle, (Stan) Larson, Joe (Beverly); 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sister: Rita (Carlyle) Johnson and by his nieces, nephews and many other loving relatives and friends. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents: Ross & Anna; sister: Wanda.

Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Monday, September 25, 2006 at the Williams-Hanson-Kaun Funeral home in Princeton and also 1 hour prior to services on Tuesday at the church.

Funeral Services: 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 26, 2006 at the Princeton United Methodist Church in Princeton.

Interment: Oak Knoll Cemetery, Princeton.

Casket Bearers: His grandsons and grandsons-in law: Chad Gourley, Jeff Mulholland, Dan Kitzberger, Bryan Galligher, Jerrod Larson and Matthew Gourley. Jay Larson, Mitchell Gourley and 1st Lt. Reid Larson will be honorary casket bearers.
