Della Guthrie, 77, Fort Dodge, died Tuesday morning, June 6, 1989 at the Park Manor Care Center in Fort Dodge. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 8 at 1:30 p.m. at the Foster Funeral Home, Webster City, Robert Scott officiating. Burial will be in the Cass Center Cemetery, north of Webster City. Visitation at the Foster Funeral Home is after 5 p.m. today until service time.
Della Irene Johnson, daughter of Dick and Grace Van Horn Johnson, was born March 22, 1912 on a farm southeast of Williams. She attended rural schools in the Rose Grove Township. She married Edwin Greenfield on Jan. 26, 1931 and the couple farmed in Hamilton County. Mr. Greenfield preceded her in death in November 1954. She married Floyd Guthrie on May 7, 1955 and the couple resided in Webster City and Woolstock. She had been employed at the Hamilton County Hospital. Mrs. Guthrie had resided at Park Manor since June 1986.
She is survived by four daughters and four sons, Lois (Mrs. James) Weldon, Omaha, Neb.; Duane Greenfield, Las Cruces, N.M.; Keith Greenfield, Denver, Colo.; Pamela (Mrs. Kenneth) Nelson, Slater; Ardys (Mrs. Dennis) Johnston, Woolstock, Morris Greenfield, Ames; Maureen (Mrs. Brad) Jeske, Junction City, Ore.; and Roxy Greenfield, Ellsworth; 20 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; two brothers and one sister, Edd Johnson, Iowa Falls; W.J. "Bill" Johnson, Webster City; and Jennie Rasmussen, San Carlos, Calif. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters and four brothers. Mrs. Guthrie was a member of the Church of Christ, Webster City.
