Iris L. Traylor, age 87, of Dayton, Ohio passed away Thursday January 6, 2011 at Bethany Lutheran Village. She was born July 24, 1923 in Eagle Grove, Iowa to Lucille (Weber) and Theodore McVicker. Iris graduated from the Grant School of Nursing in Columbus, Ohio. Before retiring, she worked as a Registered Nurse for over 40 years for Dr. Beachler in Piqua. Iris was a member of Greenmont-Oak Park Community Church and loved her church work and bridge groups. She was a lifelong avid sports fan. Iris will be missed by all, especially her great neighbors. She was preceded in death by her son Theodore "Ted" Traylor and husband of 55 years, Leroy. Iris is survived by her son Patrick Traylor, daughter Gwen Wallace and her husband Bill, sister Jacqueline Clark, daughter-in-law Joyce Young, grandchildren Kathleen Welch, David Wallace, Matthew Traylor, Randy Traylor, Juli Hatchell and Layla Santa Rosa, great-grandchildren Nathaniel Welch, Abigail Welch, Phoebe Traylor, Sophia Traylor, Zoe Traylor, Devon Hatchell and Isabella Santa Rosa, niece Carol Chenos and her husband Mike, and many other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends Sunday, January 9, from 6-8 pm at Conner & Koch Funeral Home, 92 W. Franklin St. (S.R. 725), Bellbrook. Funeral services Monday 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Rev. Greg King officiating. Interment in Valley View Memorial Gardens in Xenia. In memory of Iris, memorial contributions may be made to the Greenmont-Oak Park Community Church.
