Mrs. Mourlam dies at 83; rites Saturday

Mrs. Clementine Mourlam, 83, a longtime resident of Webster City, died suddenly Wednesday afternoon at the Hamilton County hospital. She had been in ill health for several years. Funeral services will be Saturday at 3 p.m. at the Foster Funeral home with the Rev. S. W. Cunningham officiating and with burial in Graceland cemetery.

Clementine Emmendorfer, daughter of Prosper and Marie Katherine Jennes Emmendorfer, was born March 10, 1887, at Wildersback, France where she was reared and educated. She was united in marriage Aug. 14, 1909 to Edmond Hisler and the couple came to this county from Alsace-Lorraine, and resided in the Wright county area. To this union, one son and three daughters were born. Mr. Hisler preceded her in death June 23, 1923. She was united in marriage July 14, 1924 to Prosper Mourlam, and the couple resided at 621 Webster St. in Webster City. Mr. Mourlam, preceded her in death Sept. 4, 1956.

She is survived by one son and three daughters: Mrs. Marcelline Demos of Chicago, Mrs. Raynard (Eva) Mourlam and Raynard E. Hisler, both of Webster City, and Mrs. Esther Smith of Downey, Calif.; nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. August (Fanny) Hilpipre of Webster City and Mrs. Harriett Hisler of Clarion. She was preceded in death by her parents, several brothers and sisters. She was a member of the Asbury United Methodist church.
