Janice Jovaag Ansorge, age 64, of Austin, Minnesota died Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2006, at St. Marks Lutheran Home in Austin after a 12-year battle with ovarian cancer. She was born March 30, 1942 in Bagley, Minnesota to Jonas and Pearl (Martinson) Jovaag, Janice graduated from the Springfield High School and St. Olaf College. For nearly three decades she was a teacher in Seguin, Texas, and is the author of "When You Are Facing Divorce" and "When You Are Diagnosed With a Life-Threatening Illness." Janice moved to Austin four years ago and is a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church. She was a loving mother and exuberant friend.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Sept. 9, 2006, at 6 p.m. at St. Anthony park Lutheran Church, 2323 Cowo Avenue West, St., Paul, MN. Services officiated by the Rev, Glen Monson of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Austin and the Rev. Glenn Berg-Moberg of St. Anthony Park Lutheran Church, St. Paul. Visitation will be held at the Clasen-Jordan Mortuary on Friday from 5-7 p.m. and at the church for one hour before the service on Saturday.
Survived by daughter, Kaiya Ansorge and husband, Eric Jepson of Vermillion, S.D.; sons and daughters-in-law, Adam and Kristin Ansorge of Austin, MN, Seth and Amanda Jovaag of Madison, Wis., Three grandchildren, Sister, Corinne (Arthur) Bustad of St. Paul, Minn.; Brother, Arvid (Lots) Jovaag of Austin, Minn., Nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Harold and Jon Jovaag. Arrangements by Clasen-Jordan Mortuary, 209 Second Avenue N.W., Austin, MN.
