Eagle Grove – Paul Wilson Riley, Jr., the son of Paul W. and Lavina (Fosnot) Riley, Sr. was born June 2, 1942, in Iowa City, Iowa. He was raised and educated in Eagle Grove. On July 12, 1964, Paul was united in marriage with Connie Graves at the United Methodist Church in Webster City. The couple made their home and raised their two children in Eagle Grove. Paul drove truck for Umthun Trucking and Decker Trucking Companies for over 40 years. He also worked the last eight years for Foust Funeral Homes. Paul served as a volunteer on the Eagle Grove Fire Department for past 42 years and was an “original” EMT for the Eagle Grove Ambulance. He was also a member of the Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran Church - serving on the church council, the Moose Lodge in Webster City and of the Bower Masonic Lodge #464.

Paul passed away Friday, November 26, 2010, at Wright Medical Center in Clarion, at the age of 68 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Mike Riley. Survivors include his wife, Connie Riley of Eagle Grove; son Todd Riley and friend Kristen Wellington of Seattle, WA; daughter, Tiffini Mericle and husband Jeff of Goldfield; granddaughters, Allison and Michelle Mericle; brothers, Maurice Riley and wife Gladys of Clarion, Robert Riley of Clarion, Richard Riley and wife Joyce of Clarksville, IN; sisters, LaVonne Lombard and husband Jim of Dayton and Rosemary Tate and husband Denny of Laurens and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 30, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove with Pastor Bill Kem officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a Masonic Service at 8:00 p.m., at the Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Eagle Grove. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
