BROOMFIELD, Colo. - Harvey E. Janssen, 81, died of complications following a vehicular accident in June. He died at Broomfield Skilled Nursing & Rehab Center in Broomfield, Colo. Harvey was born on June 28, 1929, to Herman B. and Blanche E. Janssen at the family home near Hampton, Iowa. He attended school at Plain View country school and at Latimer High School before he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He retired from the Air Force in Denver, Colo.

Harvey was united in marriage to Hope Townley on June 19, 1955. To this union three children were born, Mark Allen, Kevin Bruce and Eric Lowell. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Hope, in 2005; his son, Kevin, in 2003. Survivors include his son Mark, and wife, Cammie, of Keenesburg, Colo., and their children, Candice and her son, Aaron; Janet and husband, Josh; and William all of Colorado; his son, Eric, and wife, Anna, and their son, Riley of Broomfield, Colo.; siblings, Harry Janssen and wife, Kathryn of Waverly, MaeFerne Wenzel and husband, Fred, of Belmond; Margaret Myers and husband, Kae, of Altus, Okla.; Clyde Janssen and wife, Kathy, of Mason City; and Ralph Janssen and wife, Jan of Altus, Okla.; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 10, at Advantage Aurora Chase Chapel, 1095 Havana St., Aurora, Colo. Interment will be in Fort Logan National Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family in care of MaeFerne Wenzel, 607 Eighth Ave. N.E., Belmond, IA 50421.
