DOWS, IA - James J. Unger II, 40, of Dows and Williams, died Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010 as a result of injuries received in an automobile accident near Dows. Funeral services for James J. Unger II will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 24, at the Dows Community School Gymnasium in Dows. The Rev. Bruce Klapp and the Rev. Ron Yannell will co-officiate. Visitation for James J. Unger will be from 10 a.m. until services on Wednesday at the Dows school gym. Dugger Funeral Homes, 100 N. Lee St. in Dows, is in charge of arrangements.

DOWS - Two Williams area residents are dead following a car accident that occurred in Franklin County. According to the Iowa State Patrol, the victims were James John Unger, 40, and James Andrew Unger, 14. Reports stated the two were traveling eastbound on Balsam Avenue near Dows when the driver apparently lost control of the 1992 Mazda and rolled into a creek. The car was found Saturday morning. James Andrew Unger was a freshman at Northeast Hamilton High School, according to school officials.
