MRS. EDWARD ALBERTS PASSED AWAY SUNDAY AFTERNOON

The death angel entered the Edward Alberts home on Sunday afternoon and brought sweet release to the mother, Mrs. Alberts, who has been a patient sufferer for many months with tuberculous. She spent several months at the Oakdale sanitarium where the best medical skill was given her and since her return home her daughter has been with her constantly caring for her every need. During all these long months of suffering her patience and endurance has been wonderful.

Mary Ann Smith was born May 2, 1867, at Sheffield, Ill., and passed away at her home in Spirit Lake on March 11, 1923, aged 55 years, 10 months and 9 days. She was united in marriage to Edward Alberts at Princeton, Ill. Ten children were born to this union; one, Edward, Jr., was killed while in action in France.

On March 1, 1901, Mr. and Mrs. Alberts came to Iowa locating at Dows, Iowa, which was their home for six years. They later moved to a farm in the Lake Park and Montgomery community where they made their home for thirteen years. About one year ago they moved to Spirit Lake. Besides the husband and nine children, she leaves to mourn her death four brothers and two sisters. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 p.m., Rev. J. H. Edge in charge and burial was made in the Lake Park cemetery.

Those from out of town in attendance at the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. John Dale, sister, of Sheffield, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. John Smith, Clarion, a brother; W. M. Smith, Firesteel, S. D., a brother; Mrs. Harry Ankeney, Waubum, Minn., a daughter, and Mr. and Mrs. F. F. Glover, of Des Moines, a daughter.
