GOWRIE, IA -- Dale A. Anderson, 81, died Saturday, November 13, 2010 at his home. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 18 at Zion Lutheran Church, Gowrie with Pastor Jim Davis officiating. Burial will be in Lawn Cemetery, Boxholm. Friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 17 at the Palmer Funeral Home in Gowrie.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy of Gowrie; daughter, Ruth Nellis and her husband Jeff of Ft. Dodge; son, David Anderson and his wife, Trena of Paton; grandchildren, Matthew and Rebecca Nellis and Aiden Anderson; brother-in-law, Lauren Youngdale of Fergus Falls, MN and sister-in-law, Lucille Wagner of Eagle Grove; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Hannah (Fors) Anderson; infant sons, Kevin Dale Anderson and Mark Alan Anderson; a sister, Norma Youngdale; sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws.

Dale A. Anderson was born on May 25, 1929 in Ft. Dodge. He graduated from the Lanyon High School in 1946. Dale was united in marriage to Dorothy Gjerstad on August 20, 1961 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Humboldt. Dale farmed all his life near Paton, semi-retiring in 1989. In 2004, they moved to Gowrie. Dale was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Gowrie, past board member of the Boxholm Elevator and Trinity Lutheran Church in Boxholm. Memorials may be left at the family's discretion.
