EAGLE GROVE, IA - Jeanette Arlene Seefried, was born January 25, 1927, in Newton, Iowa, the daughter of Roscoe and Wilma (Rogers) Brock. She was raised and educated in the area of her birth and in Cedar Falls, graduating from Price Lab High School. She then attended Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls. On October 8, 1949, Jeanette was united in marriage with Vernon Seefried at the First Baptist Church in Cedar Falls. The couple made their home in Cedar Falls until moving to Eagle Grove in 1955, where they raised their daughter, Polly. Jeanette worked in various secretarial positions in Eagle Grove and also obtained her Real Estate license. Vernon worked for I.P.S and the couple lived briefly in Sioux City, but returned to Eagle Grove. Jeanette was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Rebekah Circle. She appreciated music and enjoyed playing the piano, organ and singing. Jeanette also liked belonging to a women's group, the "Coffee Klatch", which she was an original member.

Jeanette passed away Wednesday, November 10, 2010, at Rotary Ann Nursing Home, at the age of 83 years. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Charles Brock. Survivors include her husband, Vernon Seefried of Eagle Grove; daughter, Polly Anderson and husband Ron of Ankeny; sister, Shirley Kearns and husband John of Vinton; sister-in-law, Sharon Brock of Garden Grove, Calif.; and brother-in-law, Stan Seefried.

Memorial services will be held Friday, November 12, 2010, 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Eagle Grove with Pastor Mike Agnew officiating. Visitation is Thursday, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Foust Funeral Home, Eagle Grove. The family wishes memorials be left to Hospice of Wright County, the United Methodist Church, Rotary Ann Nursing Home or a Charity of your choice.
