Visitation: November 7, 2010 - 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, Gunderson Funeral Home

Services: Services will be 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 8, 2010 at Trinity United Methodist Church with the Rev. Steve Peters and Dan Rogers officiating. Cremation will follow the service at the Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services and family interment services will take place at a later date at the Newark Township Cemetery, north of Vincent.

Clarence Messerly is survived by his children, Deloris (Donald) Soppeland, Marian French and David (Sally) Messerly; special daughter Marillyn Korth; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; sister Eileen Dennis; several nieces, nephews and extended family members along with a special friend Michael Cassidy. He was preceded in death by a daughter Marjorie Severson, two sons-in-law, Wayne Severson and Geoffrey French, his parents, a sister Mabel Gross and two brothers, Wilfred and Arthur.

Clarence William Messerly, the son of John and Otelia (Schmoker) Messerly, was born July 26, 1907 at Vincent and he attended country schools. Clarence was united in marriage to Lucille Davis on February 27, 1934. Clarence farmed in the Vincent area until the age of 86. He enjoyed collecting antiques and working with his horses. Memorials: Memorials may be directed to the discretion of the family.
