Webster City, IA -- Curtis D. Olson

March 23, 1918 -- November 2, 2010

Curtis Dewey Olson was born March 23, 1918, in Duncombe, Iowa, the son of Martin and Myrtle (Clausen) Olson. He was raised and educated in the area of his birth, graduating from Duncombe High School in 1936. Curtis served in the United States Army during W.W.II. On March 14, 1949, Curtis was united in marriage with Julia B. “Tiny” Kiesecker at the Methodist Church in Omaha, Nebraska. The couple made their home in Webster City until moving to Duncombe in 1977, retiring to Fort Dodge in 1987 and later moved to assisted living in Omaha. Curtis managed Dunn’s Supermarket in Webster City, before building and operating his own grocery store and gas station - Olson’s General Store in Duncombe. Curtis was a member of the Asbury Methodist Church in Webster City

Curtis passed away on Tuesday, November 2, 2010, at Lakeside Hospital in Omaha, at the age of 92 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Julia on May 11, 2002; brothers, Kenneth, Howard and Willard Olson and sisters, Martha Hasty and Betty Hasty. Survivors include his daughter, Natha Tabor of Omaha, NE; son, Marty Olson and wife Patricia of Atlanta, GA; 5 grandchildren: Justin, Jerod and Adam Tabor and Brandon and Andrew Olson and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 6, 2010, 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Eagle Grove with Pastor Mike Agnew officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Webster City. Visitation is Saturday, 9:00 a.m. until service time at the church. Foust Funeral Home, Eagle Grove, is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
