BELMOND, IA — Norma J. (Wright) Hoff, 77, of Belmond, Iowa, most recently a resident of Westview Care Center, Britt, died Sunday, Oct. 31, 2010, at the Westview Care Center with her loving family at her side. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 3, at St. John Lutheran Church, Belmond. The Rev. James Harbaugh will be officiating. Burial will be in the Belmond Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m., today, Tuesday, Nov. 2, at the Andrews Funeral Home, 516 1st St. S.E., Belmond, and continue one hour prior to the service at church Wednesday. Memorials may be directed to the family or the donor’s choice.

Norma Jean Wright was born on July 23, 1933, at Osage, the daughter of Elmer and Nora Wright. She was grew up and was baptized and confirmed in the Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Osage. Norma graduated from Osage High School. Norma was united in marriage to Bernard G. Hoff from Mason City on Feb. 28, 1953, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Mason City. She was a life-long homemaker and a wonderful painter and artist. Norma and Bernard had displayed and sold many of her paintings and other crafts throughout the region. Music was another of her gifts and over the years she had sang and directed various church choirs in Hampton and Belmond. She enjoyed the simple things in life, such as times spent with her husband, decorating her home, her flowers and garden, and her favorite Egyptian Mau cats. In later years of her Bernard’s sales travels, she spent times with him on the road. During their over 53 years of marriage the couple had lived for periods of time in the Southeastern U.S., Spencer, Hampton, and for the last 32 years in Belmond.

Her memory will live on in the lives of her husband, Bernard Hoff, 215 4th Ave. S.E., Belmond, IA, 50421; her son, Lindsey (Elizabeth) Hoff, Dubuque; a daughter, Cynthia (Robert) Holder, Ill., sister, Janette (Herbert) Heimer, Coon Rapids, Minn.; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Gerald Hoff, an infant son, sister Marion Anderson, brother Eugene Wright, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Andrews Funeral Home, Belmond, IA.
