WEBSTER CITY - Services for Stephen William Payne, 35, long time Webster City resident will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Boman Funeral Home, Webster City. Stephen died Thursday in Fort Dodge. Stephen will be missed by aunts and uncles: Mrs. Gloria (Staley) Faiferlick, Eagle Grove, Mrs. Deane (Judy) Haack, Eugene Oregon, Mr. Jerry (Pam) Staley, Webster City, Mrs. Janey Dunn of Williams, Mrs. Curtis (Jolene) Dammen of Shelly Minnesota, Mrs. John (Joyce) Mischel of Ankeny, Juanita Staley of Omaha Nebraska, Mrs. Miles (Jone) Golly of Ankeny and many cousins, relatives and friends.
He enjoyed time with family and friends, billiards, picnics, camping, 80's music, TV, scuba diving, family vacations, cross word puzzles, Tae Kwan Do, reading books, and a cold beer. He was good hearted, compassionate, and always concerned about others. He always wanted to make sure everyone felt special and wanted to be friends with everyone. He provides endless love and attention to his mother.
Steve was born in Clarion Iowa to Janice Avon (Staley) Payne. He grew up in Webster City, graduating from Webster City High School. He spent 2 years in the Navy. Steve attended Iowa Central Community College and received an Associate Degree in Computer Science. He was preceded in death by his mother Janice, grandparents: James and Alma Staley, Uncles John Staley and Theodore Dunn.
