Viva Smith DeMerritt (87) passed away on September 30, 2010. Viva was born in Kanawha, Iowa on July 6, 1923. She is survived by her five daughters Linda Luke, Kathy (Clay) Ink, Lorraine (Fred) Williams, Sarah (Rodney) Hinton, Melissa Allen, and 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren. Viva's greatest joy in life was her family. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and GG. She will be remembered as a gracious hostess, talented cook, compassionate person, and someone with a wonderful sense of humor. She lived life to the fullest, enjoying traveling around the world, swimming with dolphins, and most recently taking a hot air balloon ride. She was the epitome of grace. She will be sorely missed by her family and many friends at Classic Residence where she lived the past eight years. After a private family burial, a Celebration of Life Open House will be held on Saturday, October 2 at Classic Residence 7501 E Thompson Peak Parkway, Scottsdale 85255 from 2:00 to 4:00. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions in Viva's name to the charity of your choice.
