Tressie Stadtlander, 88, Meservey, died September 12, 2010 at Good Shepherd Health Center in Mason City. Services were held September 14 at the First Reformed Church in Meservey. Interment was at the Meservey Cemetery.

Tressie was born, March 16, 1922 at Lakota, a daughter of Edward and Alice (Bockholt) Abbas. On October 28, 1939 she married Bennie Stadtlander. They farmed together for area farmers and themselves in the Meservey area. Bennie passed away May 29, 1989, and Tressie moved into Meservey. Tressie became a member of the First Reformed Church in Meservey in 1940. She was a member of women’s ministry and was devoted to service of the church. She loved traveling with her brothers and sisters and sharing birthdays and holidays with family.

Tressie was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sisters; and two brothers. Survivors include sons Edward (Janice) Stadtlander of Meservey and Lee (Cathy) Stadtlander of Ankeny; grandchildren Annette (Tony) Cockrell, Darcy Lutgen and friend Dave Ruiter, Shelly Black and friend Rohn Kuhlers, Danelle Stadtlander and friend Mike Balek, Troy (Alicia) Stadtlander and Rachal (Mike) Bryan; great grandchildren Cody, Tristan, Abby, Adam, Grant, Caden, Carlee, Caylee, Olivia and Matthew; sisters Fannie (Warren) Braund, Edna (Clarence) Isebrand and Esther (Ordel) Dickmeyer; and brother Teus Abbas. Memorials may be directed to the church or the Alzheimer’s Association.
