Arthur Dale Scheffelman, born Nov. 17, 1920 in Corwith, Iowa passed away Sunday Dec. 6, 2009 at the age of 89. He was preceded in death by his wife Maxine of 62 years, a brother Marvin, and a sister Nanette. He is survived by his daughter Becky and son-in-law Jim Lampe, grandchildren Mark Lampe (Nancy), and Amy Inkster (Mike), great grandchildren Zachary, Alex, and Kendell, and sister Lovice. Dale left Consolidated Aircraft Experimental Division when WWII began and served 3 1/2 years in the South Pacific in the Marine Corp. After returning, he and Maxine moved to Fort Dodge, Iowa. He joined the Ft. Dodge Police Dept. in June 1950, and retired in June 1979 with the rank of Assistant Chief under Bill Lamb. Dale and Maxine retired to Sun City, Arizona in Jan. 1980. A celebration of life will be held Dec. 14 at Sunland Memorial Park, Sun City, AZ. Many thanks to the caring staff at Hospice of the Valley for making his final days peaceful.
