PONTIAC, IL - Bernadette Wille, 79, a resident of Livingston Manor, Pontiac, and formerly of Rock Island, died at 7:15 p.m. Sunday (April 16, 2000) at the center. Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Rock Island. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Rock Island. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church. Wheelan Funeral Home, Rock Island, is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
She was born Dec. 31, 1920, near Whittemore, Iowa, a daughter of Julius and Helen Dorweiler Studer. She married Howard A. Wille on May 18, 1946, in Corwith, Iowa. He died April 7, 1974.
Survivors include two sons, John (Katie) Wille, Pontiac; and James (Sue) Wille, Streator; one daughter, Joyce (Bob) Kalal, Florescent, Mo.; and a brother, George Studer, Humboldt, Iowa. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, John (Melissa) Wille; Brigid (Tom) Dutton; Mike Wille; Tom Wille; Kate Wille; Maureen Wille; Andrea (Jesse) Farley; David Kalal; Kimberley Kalal; Jennifer Kalal; Melissa Kalal; Jeremiah Wille; and Amanda Wille; and a great-granddaughter, Madison Jo Wille. She was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
She was last employed by Project NOW, Rock Island, where she worked as a senior aide at an adult day care center before retiring in 1986. She also worked for several years at Geifman Food Store, Jewel Food Store and Woolworth's Variety Store. She had lived in Rock Island from 1953 until moving to Pontiac in June, 1999. Bernadette was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. She was a member of the 50+ Club at the church, Rock Island VFW Post 1303 Auxiliary and the Diabetes Association.
