Doris L. Long, 86, of Cheyenne died Nov. 3 at Life Care Center. She was born July 13, 1916 in Kossuth County, Iowa and had lived here for 25 years. She graduated from Corwith High school in Iowa and received an associate degree from Iowa State Teachers College. She married Richard Long on June 9, 1938 in Corwith, Iowa. Mrs. Long was a member of Chapter AD of PEO and Cheyenne Country Club.

She is survived by two sons, R. Ron Long and Gerald D. Long, DDS, both of Cheyenne; five grandchildren and five-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard A. Long on May 30, 1992; her parents, William and Mettie Merriam;two brothers, George R. Merriam and Raymond E. Merriam and one sister, Wilma Vicari.

Arrangements are pending through Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes. Friends may contribute to Meals On Wheels or Salvation Army.
